At the risk of laying it on too thick, Dr. Yali is simply irreplaceable (and given that we medical students think of passing STEP as a life or death matter, I'll add in 'lifesaver' as an understatement).As medical students it's a given that we can teach ourselves material, but this exam pushes the limit- not only in demanding a grasp of an enormous body of knowledge, but even more so in figuring out how to learn what you don't know you don't know. That's where Dr. Yali comes in, almost like a hack to the system- her grasp of the material is just absolutely preposterous (She'll tell you the exact page and the exact phrase where some detail lives in First Aid). That total command of the material combined with her ability to explain things simply and practically offers something extremely difficult to achieve on your own- connecting the smallest details to the big picture. And that's what this test is about.I'd only add to this something that won't mean much until you experience it yourself (at which point it will mean everything), and that she is the biggest ball of energy who really, really cares for you.
